My Journey...

Since my earliest years, I have had a flair and talent for art, drawing anything I was interested in - cartoons, wrestlers, movies, you name it. I developed these skills throughout my early years and honed my craft in drawing in my late teens. I contemplated a career in comic art, as I felt like I needed an outlet for my desire to tell brave stories with my art. Over time this idea seemed less appealing and too restrictive, and I broadened my horizons to what I felt like I could achieve, that being to paint like the old masters. Having never worked in colour to any significant degree in any medium, I set out at 27 to embark on a personal mission to paint like the artists I admired. I found myself impressed by fine paintings with dramatic and emotive images that pulled you in and made you take notice.

Through many years of trial, error, and sometimes disillusionment, I could see that through a process of elimination and learnt experience, I was slowly improving, which upped my motivation to keep on track with my solo education in the ways of the old masters. Eventually things started to click, and I was able to combine my drawing skills with my painting skills to get to where I am now, at a level I could be happy with.

Once I felt my skills were near ready, I took on the challenge of doing many reproductions of old master classics to truly sharpen my skills and pass the bar, so to speak, before I ventured off to bring my own vision to life.

As time goes on, you will see my own works displayed here, made with love and devotion to the craft but also to stir some emotion in the viewer. So please take the time to enjoy them, and if you want to get in touch about any of my services, such as commissions, my workshop, or potential collaborations, then drop me a message, and I shall be in touch.
